Web-Log? Not anymore..

Since I work in an interactive media agency, I have to do a lot of research on deployment of online content. Searching on the web, I found little on no blog hosting comparisons published in 2008. The only one’s I found were when the blogging boom had started and everyone thought it fashionable to blog.

However even blogging has evolved in the past couple of years. A typical Blog(Web-Log) which would consist of a day to day account of the blogger’s activities and personal accomplishments has been drastically changed into a platform for delivering content to Internet users and interacting with them. Blogs today typically consist of an authoritative entity (maybe corporate) who writes to inform and educate his audience about the field of his expertise. Corporates also maintain blogs for the same reason, informing their consumers about the personal side of the business and informing them about upcoming events.

Blogs have evolved into a platform for easily deliverable content without the hassles of coding and hosting etc, but the reviews of existing blogging platforms has sadly not been updated. So has the acquisition of blogger by google made any difference? Is wordpress still suitable for professional bloggers? The answer is coming up.
